Dr. Richard Hadkins

Richard attended the University of St Andrews and the University of Manchester in the UK to obtain his basic medical degree. He moved permanently to Australia in 1996 having completed his general practice training in the UK. After spending 2 years in Seymour he completed his Fellowship of General Practice. Since settling in Bendigo he has worked in Kangaroo Flat and then Quarry Hill.

He is married with three children and enjoys tennis and cycling.

His interests include skin cancer management, men’s health and aged care.

Dr. Karen Martens

Karen studied at the University of Melbourne then trained at St Vincent’s Hospital and moved to Bendigo in 1999.

She is experienced in all areas of general practice and has completed a Fellowship of General Practice, Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Certificate of Family Planning. She has previously worked at Freemason’s Breast and Women’s Clinic as well as Family Planning Victoria. She is a member of the Australian Menopause Society.

Her interests include musculoskeletal medicine, dermatology, women’s health and paediatrics.

Dr. Poornima Amaranarayana

After graduating in India in 2001, she moved to South Africa in 2006 with her family. She worked there as a senior medical officer before relocating to Australia in 2008.

After passing the Australian Medical Council examinations she practiced in Queensland before working in general practice and O&G in Mildura and Bendigo. She went on to obtain her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice in 2017.

She has also completed the Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, which has helped her to focus on the issues related to women’s health and also has interests in family medicine.

Dr. Timothy Goldsmith

Born and raised in Tasmania, Tim completed a Medical Laboratory Science Degree at the University of Tasmania. Tim worked in Australia and the UK for 10 years before studying post graduate medicine at Melbourne University.

He completed a post graduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy and worked as a surgical Doctor for Alfred Health in Melbourne, before making the switch to General Practice for lifestyle and long-term patient interaction.

Tim has a cat named Lilith, enjoys poker and motorcycle riding in his spare time.

His interests include musculoskeletal medicine, men’s health and mental health.

Dr. Adnan Jamil

After graduating in Pakistan in 2004 from Dow Medical College (Karachi) , he worked as Post Graduate Resident in Medicine and later on  moved to Oman in 2010 and worked there as Medical Officer and later on as General Practitioner until 2015. He then moved to UAE and worked in state of the art JCI accredited hospitals as GP and then got Specialist license and worked as Specialist Family Medicine in Emirates government Health Services .

Dr Adnan completed his MRCGP exam in 2019 and became a member of RACGP (UK) and he also holds membership as Family medicine specialist from CPSP in his home country since 2015 and also completed  diploma in Diabetes from CFMP.

He is married with three children and enjoys cricket and football.

His interests include Pediatric and adolescent health, managing chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes and also has special interest in family medicine and urgent care.

Dr. Erika Denham

Erika initially undertook a Bachelor of Pharmacy and practiced as a Pharmacist in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. She then completed further study in medicine and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Western Australia in 2018. After moving to Bendigo with her family in 2021, Erika worked at Bendigo Health in various roles including Emergency, General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care. In 2023 she started her specialty training in General Practice with the Royal Australian College of GPs.  She has a Certificate in Child Health and has completed a Diploma in Palliative Medicine. Erika has an interest in all aspects of general practice but particularly enjoys preventative medicine and adopts a holistic approach to health care.
